As Christians, please let us enumerate the laws of God which are the TEN COMMANDMENTS. Are the laws still ten? Is the Sabbath still observed or removed? The Sabbath which was punishable with death has been removed by a fellow human being. After giving the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20, God later said “Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.” (Exodus 31:14).
Emperor Constantine replaced the Saturday which was the Sabbath with Sunday which is the day set aside for the worship of the Sun God which is thus named after him as Sunday. What is the first day of the week? If it is Sunday, please count to the seventh day. Is it not Saturday? So if the seventh day is the Sabbath, why should a Christian ignore it? If you obey all the nine commandments and ignore the Sabbath, You have flouted all the other commandments.
God says that if you flout even one of the laws, you have flouted all the rest. “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10) So if we ignore the Sabbath, have we not flouted all the other laws? That was why Jesus said many are called but only few are chosen. “For many be called, but few chosen.” (Matthew 22:14). So would you be with the many that are called or with the few that are chosen? Many have ignored the Sabbath, but yet a few are still observing it.
That is why Jesus advised that we should flee to the narrow way because that is the path that leads to safety or the kingdom of God. The broad way is what many are following and it will send them to doom. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13–14)
So please make up your mind to be with the few who walk on the narrow way by observing the Sabbath of God. If that is so, then there is no need to follow the command of our fellow human, Emperor Constantine, who changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday on March 6th, 321 AD. Knowing this truth, are you ready to change from the Sunday worship to the Sabbath of God which is Saturday? Then please join THE SAVIOUR CHURCH OF GHANA which does not only observe the Sabbath but preaches redemption through abstinence from any evil or sin and to live a righteous life that pleases God. On the other hand The SDA or any Sabbath church could do if The Saviour Church is not within reach.
