What is widely known about the Pope is that he is the Head or Spiritual Leader of the Roman Catholic Church. Not only that but rather the apparent highest authority or rank in the Christian religion. Despite the fact that each denomination is independent with their own hierarchy of leadership, the position of the Pope in terms of authority could not be disputed even by non-Christians. When it comes to other religions, I doubt if there is a denomination or even a religion with much numbers and widely spread as the Catholic Church. Even though Hindu has a large population, it is not as widely spread and influential like the Catholic Church. When it comes to matters concerning Education and more importantly, Heath, I doubt if there is any denomination or even religion that has impacted on the lives of humanity more than the Roman Catholic Church.
Since the authority of the Pope extends to almost all corners of the earth, I doubt if any political leader has such an influence, without mentioning followers. Above everything, the Position of the Pope is not contestable, and as such, unlike any political position. He is the Most Reverend till his death. Before I proceed further, shall we explore what the origin of the Roman Catholic Church is?. The Roman Catholic Church is the continuation of the work of Jesus which was propagated by the Apostles. By virtue of that, the leader of the apostles, by name of Peter was chronicled as the first Pope.
Before the end of his mission, and his departure from earth, Jesus commissioned his disciples to spread the good news to all corners of the earth. A command which was perfectly carried by the disciples and the apostles. Through that, the Roman Catholic Church became the first Christian church or denomination. It is undeniably the biggest Christian denomination in terms of population and contribution to society. Its presence is felt almost at every corner or position of the earth. Without mentioning the schools and hospitals, especially in Africa, where are other humanitarian activities offered by the Catholic church to humanity.
The Change of Sabbath To Sunday
One hidden truth is how the change of the Sabbath to another would occur at the latter days. Daniel made a prophecy about desolation. It was prophesied by Daniel that the Desolation will be at the holy place, meaning there would be a time when the Holy place where the temple was would become desolate or empty when it is time for worship. Meaning there would be a time you would meet no one in the temple on Saturday for worship. Meaning the Sabbath or Saturday worship would no more be observed in order for the temple to be filled The place would be empty because no one would
where the Pope is situated is a holy place but in spite of that, the Pope would not consider the holiness but would still accede to a decree that will bring desolation. What is the decree which would bring the desolation? What was to be desolated to result in desolation?. Several years after the death of all the Apostles, the temple was usually filled on the Sabbath with all the Christians, including some of the Jews to attend services. When would the Temple be empty on the Sabbath?
Abolition of the Sabbath is the decree that would bring the desolation or emptiness. Emperor Constantine, then the Emperor of Rome made a decree that should have been criticized or condemned by the Pope, yet the Pope acquiesced, giving in to the command of the Emperor. Being the representation of Christ, and as such in charge of the holy place, the Pope should not have given in to the pressure of the Emperor but he did that for the sake of peace as Emperor Constantine was the most accommodating Emperor and that ceased from persecution of the Christians. More so, he proposed a merger which is a sign of peace and unity. At the Holy Place or Tabernacle is the Holy Laws or the Ten Commandments. One of the commandments which called for death was the flouting of the Sabbath. It was a command by the God of Israel that anyone that works on the Sabbath should not be allowed to live. (Exodus 31:14–15). Someone went to cut firewood on the Sabbath and was therefore stoned to death (Numbers 15:32–36). The Sabbath was therefore strictly followed by Israel and even Jesus Christ.
Even at the time of Jesus, the Jews wanted to stone him for healing on the Sabbath and asking the healed person to go home carrying his/her mat. This was against the law for one to carry the mat on the Sabbath. There was a time they were waiting to see if Jesus would heal a sick who was also expectantly waiting, while Jesus was coming that way. It took Jesus the Divine Wisdom to question them whether it was good or bad to save the child of Abraham on the sabbath? He questioned them if there was any of them that would not deliver his/her sheep from the pit it had fallen in on the sabbath? Feeling guilty, the Pharisees and Scribes who were ensnaring Jesus kept mute and could not utter a word.
These examples are given just to emphasize the importance of the Sabbath to Israel and thus the believers in Christ known as Christians. The apostles had to fully observe the Sabbath as part of the laws of God till a time the day of worship or Sabbath was changed. Emperor Constantine, in his bid to curtail the persecution of the early Christians, decided to merge the Roman religion with that of Christianity so that they all worship together. Emperor Constantine then changed the Sabbath worship which was Saturday to Sunday which was the day dedicated by the Romans for the worship of the Sun – God. Before coming out with such a decree to merge the two religions and to change the Sabbath, Constantine sought the consent of the Pope.
The Pope could have insisted on the Sabbath or could have convinced Constantine to maintain the Sabbath, but because he saw that would end the persecution of the Christians, the Pope had to consent. By so doing, the Pope who was at the Holy place, representing God had agreed to the commandment of man to change the day and time as was prophesied by Daniel. It is worth to also note that no prophecy could fail to come to pass. As has been ordained in the spiritual realm, no human could lay any blame on another for what God has ordained to happen. God had ordained for such a change for a purpose. Now is the time for the reversal of the change for Christians to observe the Sabbath as was being done from time immemorial. For this reason, it was stated that, “seek the olden Highways and get rest for your souls.
Restoration of the Sabbath
It is now time to seek the old highways for all Christians. As the abolishing of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday was instituted by a human, another human, with the same position can also reverse it to the former position which was Saturday. I am thus on my knees, in the name of our Lord Jesus, imploring His most Reverend the Pope,who is the representative of Jesus, to consider with his cardinals, as was done at Nicea in AD 123, to reverse the Sabbath to its rightful position. Though the Emperor was not a Christian, he was the ruler and could thus make such a law. The then Pope, His Most Reverend Gregory, could not object, ostensibly to maintain peace, as even the earlier Emperors were persecuting them. So if the Emperor, Constantine, was not persecuting them but merging their religion with that of the Romans, he, the Emperor wanted peace and as such, he, the Pope had to agree to the peaceful change. As the reversal was instituted by man, and the Pope is apparently the Highest in the Christian Religion, He has the Power to Reverse that law to its original state. That is the more reason why I am pleading with him in the name of our Lord Jesus the Christ to reverse the Sabbath to its former state which is Saturday.
REVERSAL OF CELIBACY
Another law which I am further on my knees again is the flouting of the first commandment of God which was criticized and a decree made against it. The first commandment of God to man was that man should procreate and multiply to fill the surface of the earth. However, by virtue of certain conditions, the law of celibacy was decreed for leaders of the Roman Catholic Church in the year ……Even though the law was necessary by that time to protect the properties of the church and to avoid the system of monarchy where the leader or Father would ensure that his son succeeds him as Father, it is still a contradiction or blatant refusal to obey the first commandment of God to humanity. I am thus on my knees humbly imploring the Mighty Pope to convene a meeting with his Cardinals or Church Council to withdraw the celibacy law to permit all members to marry and produce to fulfil the will if the Creator.
The Pope is thus the Highest authority or position in the Christian religion and denominations. The position of the Pope, which began with Peter, could be said as the Father of Christianity as all denominations of Christendom emanated from The Roman Catholic Church.
